1. Onion Cake Festival – A complete success
On Sunday, September 28th, the Arul Trust support association hosted its first onion tart festival – and was delighted with the resounding success of the premiere. After a week of rain, the weather was perfect, allowing for a festival without any restrictions.
The board and members of the festival committee eagerly awaited how the new format would be received by the residents of Nußloch – and the response exceeded all expectations. The onion tart was completely sold out after just two hours, which the organizers took as a clear indication of the guests' enthusiasm.
Special thanks go to the Emert bakery in Gauangelloch for their generous donation of onion cake, and to the Adam Müller winery in Leimen for the new wine. Seppl's bakery in Gaiberg and numerous club members also contributed to the success of the event with homemade onion and apple cakes, as well as apple juice. Thanks to this support, all proceeds from the festival can be donated without deductions to people in need worldwide – entirely in keeping with the mission of the sponsoring association.
The festival was musically enriched by the expressive singing of Darién Rodríguez Acosta, whose performance created a particularly atmospheric mood.
The association extends its heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers from within its own ranks, to the municipality of Nußloch and Mayor Joachim Förster for their generous support in providing Nepomuk Park, and to all the guests who, through their participation, made the festival a special event. Further thanks go to the many individuals, clubs, and institutions that actively supported the association by lending event equipment.
With this successful start, the Arul Trust support association looks confidently towards future events – and is already looking forward to seeing everyone again next year – with even more onion tarts!
