Why am I involved with the Arul Trust? – Today: Dr. Matthias Spanier
Dr. Matthias Spanier, born in 1964, works as a development manager in the IT industry.
He volunteers as:

· Deputy Chairman of the Commission “Liberals and Churches” of the FDP Baden-Württemberg
· Deputy Chairman of the “Christian Liberals” Baden-Württemberg
· Deputy Chairman of the Kolping Family Wiesloch
· Board member of the FDP district association Rhein-Neckar
· Board member of the FDP local association Wiesloch-Südliche Bergstraße
· Delegate for the FDP district party conference, FDP state party conference and FDP state main committee
· Substitute delegate for the FDP federal party conference
Dr. Matthias Spanier cited the following reasons for his membership in the Arul Trust e.V. support association:
As a Roman Catholic, he also cares about social and charitable causes. He has followed the situation in other countries for several years, both with the Free Democrats and the Christian Liberals, and has also taken a stand on it. And professionally, he works with employees from various countries and sees this as an enrichment.
Years ago, Dr. Spanier first came across Pastor Arul Lourdu's weekly video sermons and was impressed and moved by them. He then met Pastor Lourdu in person on one or two occasions and learned to appreciate him (even if he does not always share his opinions). Dr. Spanier has been a supporting member of the German Red Cross for years, says: "I was very happy to become a member of the 'Arul Trust' Leimen support association, which supports the 'Arul Arakkattalai' foundation based in India!" He has complete confidence that the funding will really reach those in need, because Pastor Lourdu knows the situation in India inside out thanks to his origins, his local contacts and his travels, and he knows who needs support there. In addition to the welcome help for the poor and sick, the association's purpose also includes facilitating education and supporting independent journalists and thus sound reporting in free media. Dr. Spanier believes all of this is important. Spaniards consider this to be meaningful and important, and he wants to support this through his membership in the “Arul Trust”.
