Why am I involved with the Arul Trust? – Today: Berno Müller

Today we introduce our club member Berno Müller:

Berno Müller, born in 1957, served for many years as press spokesman for the Rhein-Neckar district and as an advisor to the district administrator. During his professional career, he considered it important to help people in need, which also applied to his volunteer work as a parish council member and foundation board member of the Sacred Heart Parish in Leimen. He promoted historical and political education as co-director of the Rhein-Neckar district's own publishing house and in local history research, where cooperation with the churches plays an important role.

When asked why he became a member of the Arul Trust e. V., Berno Müller says:

"After the tsunami disaster at Christmas 2004, I came into contact with the association "Help for Self-Help – Third World" in Dossenheim and its chairman, Helmut Merkel, who, through direct on-site interventions, delivered aid precisely to those in need. I was impressed by their commitment, which worked for a better world in Asia, Africa, Central and South America through donations of money and goods. I also recognize this commitment, especially for young people and women and girls disadvantaged in their homeland, in Pastor Arul Lourdu, his foundation, and the Arul Trust e.V. support association. Therefore, it was a matter of honor for me to immediately accept his request to become a member. Direct contact is the best way to support people in need. And so I can be sure that my modest contribution will reach those where healthcare, education, and training are urgently needed."
