Obituary for Mr. Günter Haritz
Member of the Arul Trust e. V.
With deep gratitude and great sadness, we bid farewell to
Mr. Günter Haritz,
who died on the night of October 29, 2025, at the age of 77.
With his passing, we lose not only an outstanding athlete, but above all a generous, helpful, and deeply humane friend of our club. Günter Haritz was an Olympic champion in 1972, a multiple world champion, and an honorary citizen of the city of Leimen – a name forever linked with sporting excellence and fairness. But anyone who met him knows: his true greatness lay not only in his sporting achievements, but in his kindness of heart.
For many years he was closely associated with the Arul Trust e. V. He supported our work with quiet dedication, never asking for recognition, but always: "How can I help?" His friendly nature, his attentive listening, and his genuine compassion characterized every encounter with him.
Günter Haritz embodied a humanity that was contagious – a humanity that built bridges, gave hope, and always put people first. His life was a living embodiment of compassion, extending far beyond the realm of sports.
We thank him from the bottom of our hearts for everything he did for us and so many others. His spirit of helpfulness and his smile will live on in our community.
Our deepest sympathies go out to his family and all who love him.
In silent remembrance and with Easter hope:
"What remains is love."
Dr. Arul Lourdu, Chairman
On behalf of the board and members of Arul Trust eV
